Library Facilities Herbert H. Lamson Library, built in 1964 with a major renovation and expansion in 1998, is wireless and provides seating for 1500 students and a storage capacity for 450,000 volumes of print materials. The Lamson Learning Commons, which incorporates library circulation services with Information Technology Services (ITS) Help Desk and instructional technology support; an internet-style cafe; the Michael J. Spinelli, Jr. Center for University Archives and Special Collections; Plymouth Academic Support Services; and the Writing and Reading Center, were all added in 2006. The Library provides access to a growing range of digital resources including online databases, full-text electronic journals and e-books. The library's current collections number over 350,000 cataloged print and nonprint items, 1,000 periodical subscriptions, K-12 curriculum collection, New Hampshire Impact Center collection including science and mathematics instructional materials, and a large children's literature collection. The library offers multimedia work spaces with technical and research assistance, a 60 desktop computer cluster, exhibition space, classrooms, meeting rooms, and group study rooms. The Library provides, at no charge to students, Inter-Library Loan services for book and journal materials not owned by Lamson Library. As a member of the New Hampshire College and University Council (NHCUC), students have borrowing privileges at other college libraries in the state.
